July 10, 2012 catch up

So it's been a while since I've blogged.  I started journaling and adding picts as I go, so I've been neglecting my blog.  Seth has officially quit the prison (his last day he worked was monday the  but his last official day was June 6th.)  Today was his first day with Sandy.  He loves his new job.  Apparently the guys had to keep telling him to stop smiling (including the chief, of course it was all good natured and not serious).  So on seth's last day at the prison, he was driving home and I told him we were going to go buy trees.....and that I already had the areas dug out for them....  Poor guy.  He thought he was going to come home and relax.  But I already had everything ready, and he just helped place the trees.  I dug and buried them.  Slowly through the days  I went and bought bricks to make more of flowerbeds, and now I just need to fill the areas with dirt and plants.  Our front yard is defiantly coming together.  I can't believe how much I have put into our yard.

In the last week, we have also bought a digital piano.  It is power efficiant and has ivory keys so it feels like a piano.  I has it's advantages to being a digital.  The biggest factor into getting it was that it's in our price range.  We got a discount on it since the guy selling it to us gave us the family discount.  He is in Seth's parents ward, and Seth grew up with his son.  Alayna and Kaylie love it.  I love that the volume can be turned down.  Kaylie loves turning the sound onto the chior.  She likes listening to the 'ahhhh's.  They both will ask to play it on a daily basis, and both want lessons.  I haven't attempted yet.  Seth says I can teach him first.  Everytime that I jump on the piano, then seth will come and sit down on the couch and listen.  He is soo excited about finally getting me a piano.
He says he loves listening to me play.  Another cool thing about this piano is that it has a usb port, so I can record songs or have the piano play songs.  Other than that, it's just a basic digital paino upscale to the cheapest with the ivory keys.

We were able to finally get seth his grill.  It was a very belated fathersday gift.  We are excited about it.  Seth had to wait a few days after buying it to cook on it, since I had to work.  I would have let him cook, he just wanted to wait for me.  He bought the cheapest on sale steak (so nice for him to be thinking of our finances) and marinated it for a couple of days.  It was really good for saying it was on sale and cheap.  It has the main grilling rack, with one above it that rotates forward with the lid as it opens and closes.  It also has a stove on the side, and a cover that will flip up when we want to use it.  It's all propaine so we have a stove to use if the power goes out.  I love that part.  I like having back up options if we were to lose power.

Addy is pointing everywhere at everything.  She is doing great in her toddler bed.  We have a body pillow to the side of it, so if she falls out she will have padding.  She has only fallen out 3 times in 2 weeks and the first 2 times were on the first night.  After that night, we were ready to rethink putting back into the crib bed, but she adjested so fast, we are just keeping her there.  Now we are just rethinking to when we will put Kaylie and Addy together in a room.  Alayna and Kaylie are fighting like cats and dogs lately.  I think they could use some separation.  Alayna is like Seth.  She will go to sleep instantly and wakes up early in the morning.  Kaylie has a hard time falling asleep, staying asleep, and needs time waking up time before getting out of bed.  Addy loves being with the girls.  She also likes running up and giving hugs.  She will wave bye-bye.  Her hair is getting curlier with two fly away curls one on each side of her head by her ears.  Her first molar just cut through.  She loves to eat food over baby food.  She loves to go outside.  When the girls are out side and she's in, she'll pound on the door while looking at them.  She is going through a groth spurt to where she's starting to look like little girl instead of baby.  Almost like a big girl toddler instead of little girl toddler.  She is still very busy.  The busiest baby we have ever had.  At one year, her height was in the 80% and her weight was only 19 lb.  She is still between 19 and 19.5, so she's still rear-facing in her carseat.  At least her legs are shorter so they don't hit the seat yet.  Alayna was turned around at 12 months because of her length and age.  Then it was suggested age and weight, so Kaylie didn't get turned around until 13 months. Anyway, they are all getting soo big.
